A Sanchez

Anne Bjella Sanchez, clarinetist, grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, and moved to Durango, Colorado, with her family in 1994.  She earned a Bachelors degree in Music Education and Clarinet Performance from Fort Lewis College and a Masters of Performing Arts from Florida State University.  She has also performed professionally on the bass clarinet, oboe, English horn, flute, and saxophone.  She currently plays with the San Juan Symphony as principal clarinetist and in the Denver area with the Lone Tree Symphony.  She has studied with Andy Stevens, Dr. Frank Kowalsky, Deborah Bish, Dr. Mark Walters, Keith Lemmons, and Jonathan Cohler.  Past performances include those with the Animas Music Festival, the Sarasota Opera, and the Florida State University Theatre and Orchestra.  In the fall of 2003 she performed with the New Music Chamber Ensemble in a world premiere at Carnegie Hall.  Currently residing in Westminster, Colorado, she teaches K-6th grade music for Jefferson County Public School District.
