
Daniel Brandt received early training as violinist and chorister at the Purcell School of Music in London. He did undergraduate work at the University of New Mexico as a student of Leonard Felberg and at the University of Minnesota/Twin Cities as a student of Sally O’Reilly. At UNM, from which he graduated summa cum laude, he served as Concertmaster of Symphony, Chamber, and Opera Orchestras, and was a student member of the faculty string quartet. As concerto soloist, he toured Italy and France with the North Carolina School of the Arts. He received his M.M. from San Francisco Conservatory. He served as Concertmaster of the San Francisco Conservatory Orchestra and was principal violinist with the Sarasota Opera. He performs with the Santa Fe Pro Musica and Canticum Novum, as well as the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his musical activities, he enjoys hiking, cooking, and excellent Pinot.
