
Linda Mack, a native of the Chicago area, received her doctoral degree from the University of Illinois. She has just completed her twenty-sixth year as Director of Choral Activities and Professor of Music at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. She has also served as Music Director and Conductor of the Santa Fe Desert Chorale and Artistic Director and Conductor of the Durango Choral Society. In 2003 she conducted two world premieres for choir and percussion by composers from Sweden and the United States at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. She has sung with the Robert Shaw Festival Singers in France and with the Carnegie Hall Choral Workshop. She has presented clinics and published articles on topics of vocal health, repertoire selection, and contest preparation. She also has an extensive keyboard background and has performed as a vocal and piano soloist with Music in the Mountains Festival. Her conducting engagements include performances with the Animas Music Festival, the Showcase Concert Series, the San Juan Symphony, and the Corsi Internazionali di Musica Festival in Urbino, Italy. Her awards include the Alice Admire Award for excellence in teaching and the Featured Scholar Award at Fort Lewis College.
